It's Not Robbery - Tower Heist

Universal Pictures has ended with egg on his face after the fall embarrassing experience for the next Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy comedy "Tower Heist" VOD available three weeks after its release in theaters on November 4. The plan was to test the market for Brett Ratner-directed film in two cities to see how many people pay $ 60 to see the movie at home in the comfort of your living room.

The plan failed. A number of exhibitors, such as the National Recreation and Cinemark, announced that they will not play movies at all, arguing that the process would surely be somewhat cut off ticket sales. Of course, the plan of VOD was only two mid-market city (Portland, Ore., and Atlanta), but using the nuclear option, exhibitors wanted to clarify that Universal's competitors would suffer the same serious consequences of a similar experiment .

I'll have more to say about this in a future column, but here are a few things to chew that has industry insiders question whether the universal experience botched from the start.

First, "Tower Heist" was probably the wrong movie to choose an experiment in which the cooperation of the exhibitors was necessary. Although it has two stars of the brand in the lead roles, sometimes in a month - November - which is already loaded with movies. In fact, there is another comedy, "A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas 3D" on the same date, with another great comedy that comes a week later, as Adam Sandler, "Jack and Jill".

So if you own a movie, would not be in danger of losing their number, by refusing to play "Tower Heist." This has a lot of leverage for exhibitors who want to punish Universal. Worse, from a universal view advantage is now the weak sister of the Big Six studios. He has no major versions of the program Thanksgiving or Christmas, and there are also movie theaters before coming to big events, "Battleship" in May year. So if the speakers wanted to punish a studio, Universal is the easiest to start a fight.

But here's the real question that has created problems for Universal. The new Comcast business owners were clearly study the realization of this experiment, as if the work of VOD, which will be a great way to enjoy the great advantage of Comcast cable television, making them more quality programming to offer its customers. This can help the bottom line of Comcast, but it creates all sorts of headaches for universal relations, with their talent. Universal and was besieged by the talent of the representatives of Stiller, Murphy and Ratner, all hysterical to see your new film is used as a guinea pig in an experiment that could lead to significant reduction in big box office.

It just goes to show: vertical integration in the new world of entertainment, what works for one end of the business does not necessarily work for another. Do you think Universal could have guessed what a disaster that could be possible from the beginning. But it was clear he was going ahead anyway. What is the lesson here? The theater owners are dinosaurs when it comes to adopting new technologies, but here's the thing about dinosaurs - when stamping their feet, it really can hit a loop.

Cheats S30SCI Movie | The Battle Will Conquer America - The Warner Bros. Adapted Death Note

Greetings, I have seen news about one of my favorite animes that will be adapted of the U.S. film makers and I will really wait for this one. Deathnote is my favorite anime as of today and I really like the story of this anime, I have also watched the Japanese movie version of Deathnote, and despite of the changes in the story, it appears as good as the original one. I will share you this story that I have taken on the web, as well as give a short background and trailer of Deathnote for the people who doesn’t know it.

News:
Filmmaker Shane Black has signed onto direct the manga adaptation Death Note for Warner Bros. Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry are currently writing the script.

The project is based off the manga series written by Tsugumi Ôba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata. The story revolves around a college student named Light who finds a mysterious notebook which has the unique power to kill anyone whose name is written in it. When the student uses his newfound power to rid the streets of criminals, he is pursued by an FBI criminologist.

The manga series, which has sold over 38 million copies worldwide, has spawned a number of features and TV shows in Japan and is Shane Black's favorite manga. Here's what he had to say about the project:

It's my favorite manga, I was just struck by its unique and brilliant sensibility. What we want to do is take it back to that manga, and make it closer to what is so complex and truthful about the spirituality of the story, versus taking the concept and trying to copy it as an American thriller. Jeff Robinov and Greg Silverman liked that."


No production schedule was revealed for Death Note.

Death Note comes to theaters in 2011. The film is directed by Shane Black.

Anime Synopsis and Trailer:

One day he finds the "Death Note": a notebook from the realm of the Death Gods, with the power to kill people in any way he desires. Its been a long a long time since I have not updated this site for some many reason, to be specific academic reasons, on the other hand I am still want you to be updated on the movies that I want you to know as well as to give you ideas on the movies that you want to watch as well as for the people who are finding good movies to watch. There are many people who have watched the first of the final installment of the ending of the most awaited Harry Potter movie series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows which was released last November and there are many people who have watched the movie who cant wait the second installment of harry potter and the deathly hallows part 2 to be released. Screen Terrier has revealed that young actors Benedict Clarke and Bertie Gilbert have both landed roles in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2.

Clarke, who is making his feature debut, will play a young Severus Snape. While Gilbert will play Scorpius Malfoy, the son of Tom Felton's Draco Malfoy. Scorpius appears in the Epilogue portion of the finale, which has recently been reshot. It isn't clear how large Clarke's Young Snape role will be in the final version of the film, though.

The Epilogue reshoots were completed over the weekend. It is not clear if the original ending, which was completed months ago, was completely scraped. Or if only portions of it were reshot. The original shoot, which depicts the cast much later in life, took place at the real King's Cross, as it is depicted in the book, while new scenes were filmed at Leavesden Studios in London.

Håfström previously directed the John Cusack thriller “1408,” and “Derailed,” starring Clive Owen and Jennifer Aniston. His most recent film, “Shanghai,” also starring John Cusack, will be in theaters later this year. His film “Evil,” which he wrote and directed, was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 2004 Academy Awards® and won three Swedish Guldbagge Awards, including Best Film.

Britt Reid (Seth Rogen), son and heir to Los Angeles' largest newspaper fortune, is a rich, spoiled playboy who has been happy to maintain a direction-less existence. When his father James Reid (Tom Wilkinson) mysteriously dies, Britt meets an impressive and resourceful company employee, Kato (Jay Chou). They realize that they have the resources to do something worthwhile with their lives and finally step out of James Reid's shadow. Kato builds the ultimate weapon, The Black Beauty, an indestructible car with every weapon and gadget imaginable and Britt decides that in order to be heroes, they will pose as villains. With the help of Britt's new secretary, Lenore Case (Cameron Diaz), they learn that the chief criminal in the city is named Benjamin Chudnofsky (Christoph Waltz).
